Super Eagles great Kanu Nwankwo has been honoured by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
IFFHS just announced the Phase One of football legend and Kanu was included in the list.
The Imo State born former forward is regarded as one of the most successful African players winning UEFA Cup medal, three FA Cup winners medals, Champions League, an Olympic Gold Medal.
The two time African Player of the Year winner played for the Super Eagles for 16 years between 1994 until 2010 and played for the likes of Ajax, Inter Milan, Arsenal in his impressive club career.
Kanu took to Twitter to express his delight in his inclusion in the list.
"I
was named among the 48 football legends by FIFA IFFHS.thanks to all of
you for supporting me from beginning till now and I thank God," the former Arsenal man said.
He makes the list alongside other African greats like George Oppong Weah, Roger Milla, Rabah Medjer, Muhammed Aboutrika, Mohmud El-Khatub and former Bafana Bafana captain Lucas Radebe.
Notable names on the list include, Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo of Brazil, Ruud Gullit, Franz Beckenbauer, Marco Van Basten, Zinedine Zidane, Luís Figo and Ryan Giggs.
