Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is looking to replace Michy Batshuayi in the January transfer window, according to reports.
The Italian was desperate to bring in attacking reinforcements ahead
of the 2017/18 campaign but had to settle with only Alvaro Morata coming
through the doors at Stamford Bridge.
Conte wanted Fernando Llorente to be Morata’s mentor at the club but
Tottenham beat their London
rivals to a deal for the veteran Spaniard on
deadline day.
It’s claimed Christian Benteke, Jamie Vardy and Richmond Boakye are
all on Chelsea’s radar, with Conte determined to bring in a quality
understudy to Morata.
Morata has scored seven goals in his opening nine appearances for the
Premier League champions, while Batshuayi has only found the net on
five occasions so far this term.
Conte has publicly admitted that his squad lacks the depth to compete with the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City.
