Over 10 years after "High School Musical " became your favourite musical film, Disney Channel is set to visit East High one more time.
The channel has announced a casting search for the upcoming " High School Musical 4" which will new East High Wildcats and their rivals, the West High Knights.
“High
School Musical is part of Disney Channel’s DNA. It embodies all that we
stand for. As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we’re
excited to announce ‘the start of something new’ — as we launch a search
for a new class of East High Wildcats to star in a fourth installment
of the ‘High School Musical’ franchise," Gary Marsh, president of Disney Channels Worldwide, said.
Directed by Kenny Ortega, High
School Musical originally premiered on January 20, 2006, delivering 7.7
million Total Viewers in the U.S., and becoming the highest ratings for
any telecast on Disney Channel as at time.
It
became the first ever soundtrack to reach #1 on the Billboard Top 200
chart. Its sequel was released in 2007, delivering 18.6 million viewers.
"High School Musical 3" debuted in October 2008, and grossed over $250 million at the worldwide box office.
The upcoming sequel will be directed by Jeffrey Hornaday.
