Amosu is being questioned by the EFCC on the part he played in the $2.1 billion arms deal fraud supervised by former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki.
“In continuation of the investigation into the arms probe, the EFCC operatives took Amosu to his residence in
Badagry,” a source told New Telegraph.
“After a thorough search of the residence, a fresh small ‘soakaway’ pit was discovered in the compound.
"The
operatives suspected foul play, which informed the breaking of the
‘soakaway’. Surprisingly, $1 million was found in it. The money was
subsequently confiscated,” the source added.
Amosu’s wife, Lara has also reportedly been arrested by the EFCC after N3 billion was found in her accounts.
The agency had earlier seized properties worth N5 billion from Amosu and other military officials linked with the scam.
