Is Olisa Metuh Sick Again?

Eyebrows were raised on the health condition of the spokesperson of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh who is currently facing criminal trial.

At the trial session on Wednesday, January 27, Metuh was seen visibly shivering in the dock.

Metuh also

quietly whispered something into the ears of one of his counsels.

And just immediately, his defense counsel, Emeka Etiaba called for a jacket for his client.

One of his supporters outside the courtroom – a tall fair guy – volunteered and removed the brown jacket his was wearing for Metuh.

But shortly after Metuh had worn the jacket, a  black with off-white prints muffler was brought to him.

He further removed the brown jacket given to him by the light skinned good Samaritan and used the thick muffler to cover up himself.

The PDP spokesperson was also seen not in his usual lively and jovial self but looking weary and tired, perhaps from the long trial process.

Metuh is standing trial for corruption and money laundering as alleged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He is alleged to have received money, N400 million from a former national security adviser Sambo Dasuki for security contracts that were never carried out.

Since his arrest on January 5, Metuh has been under the EFCC custody and was subsequently ordered by the court to be remanded in Kuje prison custody Metuh.

He is yet to met his bail conditions which was varied today, January 27 by the same judge, Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

At his trial on Monday, January 25, two prosecution witness gave details of how they received millions of naira, changed currencies and made investment for Metuh.
At the beginning of the hearing of the PDP’s spokesman, he was docked at the court, as he was again brought to the court in handcuffs.
Meanwhile, Adeyanju Deji, the PDP’s director of new media, recently accused President Muhammadu Buhari of denying him access to Metuh.
