72-Year-old Yoruba movie veteran, Idowu Philips popularly known asIya Rainbowhas debuted into the music scene with her singing talent. Philips recently released a gospel track titled 'Ore Ofe' from her forthcoming gospel album. The new single features popular Fuji star,Wasiu Alabi a.k.a Pasuma Wonder who, according to the 72 year-old actress, also features prominently on the album.
In a chat with Daily Times,Iya Rainbowrevealed:"I have a full gospel album recorded and ready for release already. The album was recorded withWasiu Alabi Pasuma,and it talks about how God is a politician. I've decided not to disclose the name of the album for now; we'll be releasing some hot singles off the album first before the launch proper."
Iya Rainbow began her acting career in 1986 and is believed to have acted in over 500 Yoruba films since then. Among her first movies, 'Eru' and 'Aje ni Iya Mi' stand out but she made her big break in the film,'Asiri Nla'.
